Christmas is Right Around the Corner!

So with Christmas just around the corner, we are all getting very excited. The boys’ got to start their advent calendars yesterday—Kevin just loves his chocolate! And our house is all decorated and ready to go. I am even done Christmas shopping, which truly is a holiday miracle.

The twins were sick again this week…croup and ear infections. They seem to be getting over it quickly though, and they are pretty much back to their usual selves. They just can’t stay healthy! Hopefully, they will be healthy for Christmas! I probably just jinxed myself, so please knock on wood for me if you can.

I took Kevin Christmas shopping at the dollar store on Sunday. I let him pick out gifts for his immediate family, and he loved it! It was wonderful to see the little kid get so excited about buying stuff for other people. And he really tried hard to find the perfect present for everyone. It’s going to be really fun to see everyone open up his little gift. Hopefully he doesn’t tell everyone beforehand!

Decorating the Tree and Injuries

Well, I just wanted to write a quick post about Thomas. On Thursday, he could see our neighbor’s dog out of the window of the back door. He got super excited and took off in a full sprint to get a better view. On his way, he hit the corner of his little picnic table and tripped. During his fall, he hit his head on the paneling of one of the window panes. As I rushed over to him, blood was pouring down his little face. I went into panic mode, of course, and called up Cortney (making her leave in the middle of her work day) to come and look after Kevin and Lucas. I rushed Thomas to Urgent Care where he wound up having to get 4 stitches! I cannot believe that he is not even 2 years old yet and already had to get stitches! I have a feeling mine and Paul’s lives are NOT going to be boring!


On another note, we decorated our Christmas tree tonight. It was interesting to say the least. Over 10 of my ornaments were broken by the boys, which didn’t really bug me too much until Thomas deliberately stomped on some Mickey Mouse ornaments that poor little Lucas was ecstatically admiring. Needless to say, decorating a tree with three crazy little boys was an eventful experience.

Nature vs. Nurture

Children really are amazing. It is amazing that at such a young age, they already have such an established identity. Considering the major personality differences between Lucas and Thomas, when it comes to nature vs. nurture, I think I am leaning more toward the nature side. We parent the kids as much the same as we can, yet they are sooooo different. For example, I have been trying to teach the twins their colors. Lucas just sits there, listening intently and trying to learn what all I have to say. Thomas, on the other hand, won't give my instruction the time of day. He won't sit still, and he won't respond to anything I ask him. As Lucas and I were working, Thomas went over to his little picnic table. While he was sitting there, he quietly (but loud enough for me to hear), started saying all of the different colors. So basically, he knew everything I was trying to teach him, but refused to do it on my terms. Lucas was beaming with pride at my every praise and wanted to do everything that I asked of him. They are just such polar opposites!

Kevin has been working on his rockstar career. He has been "writing" songs. He has one little song that he is very proud of already done. He is so cute; first he takes a poll from his audience as to who wants to hear his song. Then he states how much he will sell it for. Then, if enough people say they will buy it, he will perform his little song. He gets into his rockstar character and takes it very seriously. What a ham!

As Promised.......

Well it looks like the twins are well on their way to recovering from that dang RSV virus. A couple days after Thomas got sick, Lucas became ill as well. We have diligently been giving them the nebulizer treatment, and I think that they should be healthy by the end of this week.

As promised, here are multiple pictures from our Halloween extravaganza! We had a marvelous time! On Friday night, we got to go the Jami & Noah’s annual Halloween bash—which was really fun. Devin, Cameron (Noah & Jami’s newphews) were there, as was Isaac. So we had 6 little boys running around like crazy! It was a mad house, but they were extremely cute together. Towards the end of the night, they even put together their own little rock band: Isaac was the singer, Thomas & Lucas each had a drum stick, Kevin had a guitar, and so did Cameron. It was adorable.

On Halloween night, we went Trick-Or-Treating, of course. We started off by going to the Woodland Park High School’s “Treat Street”, which was basically where the kids could go inside the halls of the school and trick-or-treat from classroom to classroom. It was a little too crowded for the twin’s liking, but Kevin had a good time. Plus, we got to meet up with McKenzie, Isaac, and Lily. Then we went around to different houses and ended the night at the Zeornes’. Sorry about the order of the pictures! I just uploaded them on here in no particular order.

Uh Oh! Here We Go Again!

It was my intention to write about & share pictures of our wonderful Halloween, but Thomas was diagnosed with RSV (brochiolitis) today--which is what put him in the hospital last February. We caught it at the onset, so as of right now, he is still able to remain at home. We were brought some equipment to give him nebulizer treatment here at the house, so hopefully he will get better within the next couple of days. I will keep everyone posted, and promise to share our wonderful Halloween fun with everyone as soon as I get a free moment to do so!

Happy Birthday Jami! Snow Fun and Carving Pumpkins!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful cousin Jami! We hope you had a great one!

Boy oh boy what fun we had today! The boys got to enjoy their first real venture into the snow today. I got them all bundled up, and we went out back to enjoy the fresh powder that nature recently delivered. They were unbelievably cute! Kevin did snow angels and had a ball sliding down his slide--his snow pants made him slide even faster than usual, so he thought that was pretty cool. Thomas was like a little ball of warm clothes...walking was difficult. But somehow, he managed to run all over. He fell over a lot, which I think added to his fun. And Lucas tried to mow the snow which really cracked me up. He was trying so hard to push his little mower through the blanket of snow. The twins actually bawled when it was time to go inside!

And the fun just kept coming. Tonight we carved pumpkins. The twins decided to skip their nap (I love when they do that), so they were extra fussy tonight. Unfortunately, I think they were too tired to enjoy the art of pumpkin carving to the fullest, but Kevin had a great time. He loved sticking his hand into the guts! He was too funny. I pulled out the video camera and as soon as I turned it on, Kevin said, "1...2...3....ACTION! Hello, my name is Kevin Paul Krupp. I will now stick my hand into this pumpkin." Then he would dive his hand right on in. It was like he was hosting a show or something!

I just love fall...and the holiday season!
