Resilient Children

It just amazes me how resilient children are. Take mine for example. Kevin has had quite the year—he welcomed two new additions to his world, moved houses, dealt with the constant shuffle and bustle of being watched by a variety of people (I call them all angels) during my radiation treatment, etc. Yet he remains as sweet natured as ever. He is filled with love from the top of his head to the tip of his toes.

What made me so completely aware of this fact was that both of my twins today were diagnosed as having double ear infections. Yet neither one showed signs of pain. I know if that was me and I had two ear infections, I would be snuggled up in bed after dosing myself with as much Tylenol as necessary (okay, maybe not, I would be dragging myself around after my three crazy kids—but I’d wish I was in bed!)

Anyway, it just amazes me how much children can tolerate at such a young age.

Rest easy boys!

I think he needs more cars....

A Tribute to Snoopy

I must give credit where credit is deserved. And that credit goes to my baby sister--Brittani--or as I call her, Snoopy. She has been such an amazing person in my life. When I look at her and realize that she is still so young, I am astonished at her appreciation for her family, her determination and committment to school, her devotion as a sibling and friend, and most of all her poise, sense of humor, honesty, and sense of responsibility. She goes to school full time, yet never hesitates to help me out with kids. She babysits all three of them and handles it like a pro. I am convinced that Brittani is a rare individual and me and my family are certainly blessed to have her in our life. It has been a tough year for my family, and she has been one of the pilars that have supported us throughout it. I love you Brittani and am so thankful for you!

Brittani and I, wearing our AWESOME sister sweatshirts (mine has her name on it and hers has mine). Some might call us dorks, but I think we add a whole new meaning to cool.

Birthday Blast

We were finally able to celebrate the twin's 1st birthday. We had their party at the wonderful Triple B Ranch and it was awesome. Tons of our family and friends were there to celebrate this triumphant milestone. Here are some pictures (I probably went overboard), so peruse at your leisure.

Home Sweet Home

We are home! Thomas was released from the hospital today. He's still sick, but he is doing much better. He no longer needed oxygen or albuterol treatment, so the doctors said that there was nothing they were doing for him there that we couldn't do for him at home. He seems much happier and is very excited to be with his twin and older brother.

My little snugglebugs on Thomas' first night home from the hospital. They are so happy to be back together!
