Well this is going to be a quick summary of August! The summer has flown by way too quickly! Kevin started 1st grade last week. He loves it—he says it is way better than Kindergarten & he is thrilled that they don’t even have to have rest time. He apparently already got moved from one seat due to his excessive talking, but I can’t really say that is surprising to anyone who knows his chatty nature! He also started soccer again. He had his first game is on Tuesday! He’s really excited about his team this year since his best friend Sam is on it. They aren’t in the same class at school, so he is pumped that they at least have soccer (and recess) together!
Lucas and Thomas are enjoying their pre-school still. They are talking more and more about all of their little friends. Thomas has also taken up a singing habit. It is adorable…when he is playing he just plays and sings to himself. Lucas’ new thing is to ask people “Was that awesome?” after everything slightly daring that he does. It’s pretty hilarious.
August certainly has kept us busy (no surprise there). We have celebrated numerous birthdays including Draven’s 1st birthday and Kieley’s 1st birthday. Hard to believe those little ones are already 1! We also had my mom’s, Grandma Dorothy’s, and Ryan’s. Happy Birthday to all you August guys! Also, Happy early birthday to all you September folks! We have Travis, Linda, Nick, Kevin, Suzi, and Madelyn! How exciting! :)
We did finally get our camping trip in for the summer. We went for my mom’s birthday. It was fun & the boys had a great time. There was a river nearby that they got to play in, we went on a short hike, roasted marshmallows, Paul scared them with a scary story, and they LOVED playing in the tent. They even met a neighbor camper that they became quick friends with. His name was Lucas too and since he was 4 years old, Kevin deemed him “Lucas 1” and our Lucas was called “Lucas 2.” Leave it to Kevin to go make friends around the camp site!
Paul & I also celebrated our 10 year high school reunion! We got to see a bunch of old friends & actually had a really good time. Can’t believe it’s already been 10 years! Well, here are pictures from our annual excursion to “Touch-A-Truck” (Woodland always has a bunch of trucks down at Meadow Wood Park for the kids to come and play in), from our camping trip, and from Draven’s first birthday party!
